Ladderbjerg conglomerate hosted copper occurrence in the Gauss Halvø licence. The region is part of the Zechstein sedimentation event (think of the world famous kupferschiefer copper deposits) so really we should be looking for shale hosted mineralisation. Pffft, think outside the box. When there is at surface mineralisation, in a friable rock, and located in lowlands close to the fjords - we’d be crazy not to look into this??

More Ladderbjerg. What is important about this photo is that it shows that much of the area is under cover and we are only getting glimpses at the surface of the potential. Also, the terrane is flat and you can follow the valley all the way to Kaiser Franz Joseph fjord, so potential access to a market is easily conceivable.

Muskox. Of course these 400 kg critters are standing right where I want to go and have a look for more Ladderbjerg copper. Alas, the right thing to do was beat a hasty retreat and revisit the site in 2019.

A rather effective geo-magnet at Strindberg Land, Eleonore North licence. This mineralisation is hosted in much older rocks than at Ladderbjerg, that are of similar age to the Central African Copperbelt.

People of the Frontier - meet Hans (yellow jacket), a living legend. He moved here as a kid during the 70’s, built the cabin behind him when he was nine years old, and he had a Muskox calf as a pet. He comes back to the Frontier most years and is a major reason why Nyhavn is still usable. Thank you Hans! Oh and the puppy? A legendary Greenlandic Sled Dog belonging to the Sirius Sled patrol.

Over the water across to the left (north) is Geographical Society Island, yup you read it right. It is named after the Royal Geographical Society of London, because of its great interest in Arctic research (naawww)… or you know, maybe because the Society had made a contribution to expedition which discovered/named the island.
